Debut Atlantic Showcases Ensemble Callinos with RÊVERIES – French Masterpieces Reimagined
K’JIUPUKTUK/HALIFAX, NS – This October, the luminous sounds of flute, cello, and piano will sweep across Atlantic Canada as Ensemble Callinos tours with Debut Atlantic from October 10–17. Their program, Rêveries, is a captivating journey through French and French-inspired music—shimmering with impressionist colour, heartfelt Canadian roots, playful elegance, and dramatic passion. From Debussy’s dreamy Prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune to Louise Farrenc’s powerful Trio, Op. 45, audiences can expect an evening that is intimate, expressive, and uplifting.
Formed in 2022 by Edyelwys Silva (flute), Thomas Chartré (cello), and Jeanne Frenette (piano), Ensemble Callinos takes its name from Calliope, muse of poetry, and Linos, the legendary master of the lyre—a symbol of their dedication to musical storytelling. Beyond the stage, the trio is committed to shining a light on underrepresented composers and bringing music to diverse communities through inspiring outreach projects.
