Bold, Brilliant, and Brass: Buzz Brass Brings Famous Inspirations to Atlantic Canada
K’JIUPUKTUK/HALIFAX, NS – This November, the award-winning Montreal ensemble Buzz Brass embarks on a dynamic Atlantic Canada tour with Debut Atlantic, bringing their acclaimed program Famous Inspirations to audiences from Yarmouth, NS to Bertrand, NB. Known for their radiant sound, energy, and charm, Buzz Brass transforms classical masterpieces into exhilarating experiences for listeners of all ages.
Famous Inspirations takes listeners on a joyful musical journey through some of the world’s most beloved melodies. From the uplifting spirit of Bach and the gentle beauty of Satie to Dvořák’s heartfelt folk rhythms and Liszt’s fiery Hungarian Rhapsody, Buzz Brass brings these classics to life with their signature energy and rich brass sound. The program also features works by Canadian composers Hugo Bégin and Morley Calvert, and ends with Brass in Time—a whirlwind adventure through four centuries of music, from the Renaissance to the silver screen.
Since forming in 2002, Buzz Brass has captivated more than half a million music lovers across North America, Europe, and China. With over 2,000 performances to their credit, they’ve collaborated with major orchestras including those of Sherbrooke, Quebec City, Edmonton, and Canada’s National Arts Centre. Their fresh, accessible approach to chamber music — equal parts precision and playfulness — has earned them multiple Prix Opus awards and ADISQ nominations, as well as international praise for their recordings, including the 2024 album Héritage.
