Artists and/or their recognized agents should take note that the submission deadline for Debut Atlantic is 31 March. All application materials must be postmarked by that date. All applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada.

All applicants will be contacted via email upon receipt of their application materials and informed of any missing components. It is the responsibility of each applicant to follow up and ensure that their file is complete well in advance of the 31 March submission deadline. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Support Materials

Along with the completed Artist Application Form, each applicant must submit the following:

1. A professional quality CD recording of three contrasting works (max. 30 minutes of music). CDs must be clearly labelled with the name of the artist/ensemble, track titles, and approximate timings. Both studio and live recordings (depending upon the quality) are acceptable.
   
   Applicants submitting commercial recordings (i.e. containing more than three tracks) must clearly identify the three selections to be reviewed by the Selection Committee. Please note that, due to the volume of material received, no more than three selections (max. 30 minutes) will be reviewed.
   
   
2. A clearly labelled CD-ROM containing your most current press kit (including up-to-date bio and recent hi-resolution b/w and colour jpeg photographs). If these materials are not available electronically, hard copies may be substituted.
   
3. (optional) A DVD recording (studio or live) may be included as supplementary support material.

Please do not send more support material than is requested. All submitted materials become the property of Debut Atlantic and will not be returned following the conclusion of the selection process. Unfortunately, Debut Atlantic is unable to accept electronic submissions. Please apply with hard copy only.

All complete applications will be considered. Applications will be reviewed in accordance with the goals and artistic selection criteria of Debut Atlantic, including:

• demonstrated excellence in the chosen instrument;
  
• interesting and innovative programming;
  
• ability and willingness to collaborate with other artists;
  
• artists exhibiting a developing or established national/international profile.

The Artistic Selection Committee of Debut Atlantic is ultimately responsible for making programming decisions. Final selections, at the committee’s discretion, may include artists who have not directly or formally applied to participate.

Successful applicants will be contacted by telephone as soon as final decisions have been made (usually in late June/early July). All applicants will be notified of their standing, in writing, following the conclusion of the selection process. Results will not be released by telephone, fax, or email.
